Structure your workflow using the time blocking technique.
Time blocking is an effective strategy for using time wisely and achieving better results. Reserving time for specific activities allows you to focus on one task at a time, limit distractions and procrastination.
It is really simple to use:
1. Define your tasks by hand, make a to-do list.
2. Define a block of time during which you will eliminate all distractions and fully concentrate on your tasks. Start the timer (45 or 25 minutes recommended) and work.
3. Take frequent breaks (can be 5 to 20 minutes). Regular breaks increase productivity and concentration. During these breaks, breathe fresh air, do push-ups, stretches or anything else that will help you regain energy. Your body will thank you.
4. Repeat this work/rest cycle and take longer breaks when you feel it is necessary.
